Feng Shui, which translates as 'Wind - Water', has it foundations in a combination of Ancient Eastern Philosphy and Religion. The aim of Feng Shui is to harmonise the Ch'i energy surrounding and inside us, by mapping its flow and enhancing or weakening it to achieve a balance. The techniques used in stabalising Ch'i energy vary in the different approaches which have evolved over two and a half millennia. One key event in this evolution is thought to have been from Fu Hsi, after he saw a turtle climb from the River Lo.

Originally the art and science of Feng Shui was the domain of the Chinese Aristocracy, but in more recent times its popularity has spread from East to West, where it has not only been embraced by individuals, but also major corporations, and institutions.
